Austin State University. He later earned an additional Master of Music in Arts Administration and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance from the University of Oregon.

An active performer on both national and international stages, Milton has appeared in solo and collaborative performances across the United States, Latin America, and Europe. In March 2026, he will appear at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Austin State University, where he performed an eclectic program spanning 19th-century Romantic and 20th-century Latin American repertoire.

His international presence includes an invitation from the Goethe-Institut of Germany and Mexico to participate in the global commemoration of Beethoven’s 250th anniversary, where he first appeared in collaborative recital with pianist Nathalie Fortin and later returned to close the celebration with one of Beethoven’s final sonatas. As a concerto soloist, Fernández has performed with ensembles such as the Camerata Washington Heights and the Camerata Mozart Caribe, including a performance of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 12, K. 414, in Santo Domingo’s historic Colonial City.

He has also collaborated in vocal-instrumental projects, as well as chamber music recitals.

Milton’s artistry has been recognized with numerous distinctions, including induction into the American Association of Musicians of Honor, Pi Kappa Lambda. His artistic lineage is firmly rooted in a distinguished pedagogical tradition, having studied with Andrew Parr, Claire Wachter, and Dean Kramer, the final student of Vladimir Horowitz. Alongside his concert career, Dr. Fernández is the Director of Nuance Music Studio, which operates in North Carolina and Oklahoma.
